Temporary Housing Information
Temporary Housing InformationThe Apartment Solution
For many reasons, leasing an apartment can make a great deal of sense for newcomers to any area, and the Denver area is no exception. With so many different parts of the metropolitan area to discover and explore, it’s sometimes difficult to make a quick decision about where to live. Maybe you’re making a lifestyle and career change, and you want to explore different living options. For whatever reason, you’ll be pleased at the many apartment options available in and around the greater Denver area.
What’s Available in the Denver Area?
There are more than 200,000 apartment homes to choose from in the Denver metro area, and you'll find a variety of apartment styles, ranging from efficiencies to multiple bedrooms and levels. Floor plans and architectural styles vary greatly-ranging from beautiful studio apartments in renovated buildings in the Capitol Hill area that feature hardwood floors and original fireplaces to modern, townhouse-style offerings in other Denver areas and the surrounding suburbs that take all the care out of coming home at night. Many older and newer units feature fireplaces; you’ll also find balconies, microwave ovens, washer/dryer connections and parking facilities as well as other amenities in some older complexes and many of the newer ones.
A number of new apartment complexes have sprung up around the Denver area over the past five years or son in response to the influx of newcomers to the area. Many are two or three story garden-level communities ranging from 125 to 500 units. Vacancy rates for apartments in the Denver area are low; however, you’ll still find a competitive rental market. Many apartment communities will offer rent incentives to motivate you to consider their offerings over their competitors. Rental rates in the Denver area average around $650 a month, although you’ll find that newer communities, especially in more desirable outlying areas, cost more.
The central Denver area has the least amount of new apartments available, but you’ll find great older facilities in high rises and smaller buildings. More and newer facilities are available southeast, southwest, northeast and northwest of the Denver metropolitan area, especially near Southwest Mall in Littleton, the cities of Arvada and Westminster in Adams County, in southeast Denver and in Aurora, both near the Aurora Mall area and the Denver Tech Center.
Finding an Apartment
Apartment locating firms are an ideal choice for newcomers to the Denver area. They will help you wade through a myriad of choices and can arrange appointments for you to view the apartments you like the most. These services are free to you as apartments either pay a referral fee for units that are shown and rented or they subscribe to specific services to have their facilities listed. You’ll find a number of apartment guides available at local grocery and convenience stores, restaurants and other locations. They’re an excellent source of information about many offerings in the Denver area.
